Antonio D. Jimenez-CEO (Pharmaceia Jimenez Corp.)
Who hasn't heard of the term "self-made man"? This is aptly represented by another prominent member of Team Soleus Running, and Gerald's running buddy, Tony Jimenez. Like Gerald, Tony is a doting father and fancies calling himself the only thorn among four beautiful roses. his resume list ranges from dishwasher, pan dough master, territory manager, to Chairman/CEO; but we feel that ultramarathoner, God-fearing and dedicated family man shouldn't be let out.
Tony started running in 1998 mainly for health issues and has maintained a 29-inch waistline for the last twelve year! Running for him is a bonding time with the Lord and a chance to formulate strategies and conceptualize new products for his 100% Filipiino-owned nutrition and hygiene company.(Pharmaceia Jimenez Corp.)
You can catch him beating the pavement fashionably in his matching black compression apparel paired with a cap, arm sleeves and protective head wear-must-haves when running ultras under the unforgiving heat and humidity of the tropics, but such a pity for someone who has rugged good looks!
Here's what Tony has to say about fatherhood:
"As a father, I teach my children to value other people; not to think of themselves superior to others, but to always find some worth in them regardless of their social and educational status.
Fatherhood to me means seeing my children with a firm ad clear grasp of living in fear of the Lord; not afraid of charting their north star even when the odds are against them, but having the complete confidence that God will eventually bless the works of their hands.
Fatherhood entails the whole nine yards. You need to be a friend, playmate, counsellor, even one to give the whip if the need arises. You can be the hero or the villian, but must always do everything with utmost love.
I want my children to remember me as a loving and caring father, as one who's always around to celebrate their significant moments, and most especially, one to listen and even cry with then when they are down."
